Who We Are

Movement Reservoir Dance Company was founded in 2022 by Lachan Niedbala. Movement Reservoir is a professional modern dance company located in Kalamazoo, Michigan that is dedicated to cultivating a community that celebrates individual artistry, inspires people to experience dance, encourages technical and artistic growth through creative play and risk-taking, and fosters intentionality and authenticity in human beings.

At Movement Reservoir, we seek to honor the whole dancer, foster growth through informed and intentional practice, learn through creative play and risk-taking, and connect with our community through movement. We believe in nurturing the many voices in dance and creating space for a multitude of artistic perspectives rather than a singular vision. Through this mission, we will help to build a collaborative and supportive dance community that celebrates and inspires innovation, authenticity, and creativity in dance.
